After the great success during their Essen (Germany) show in January 2015 where a 100-piece youth orchestra performed a set of classical and MANOWAR songs, MANOWAR will once again give young classical musicians their stage to play in front of the greatest fans in the world, the Manowarriors.
Norwayâs RUSO orchestra (Rogaland Youth Symphony Orchestra) will open MANOWARâs show on February 2nd, 2016 in Stavangerâs Konserthus.
âThere is so much that unites true metal and classical music: The love for a massive, larger-than-live sound. An unparalleled passion for your music, no matter what others say! And the prejudice that these genres are often met with! Just look how many meanwhile celebrated classical composers were treated during their lifetime!â said Joey DeMaio. âWe want to give new musicians confidence and show everybody that classical music is cool!â said DeMaio, who personally travelled to Stavanger to meet with representatives of the orchestra and kick off the project.
Members of the RUSO orchestra will play pieces from their repertoire, as well as some of MANOWARâs classical songs.
âThe RUSO orchestra was founded in 2004 with the goal to inspire and motivate children and young adults who play a classical instrument to play even more, and to let everybody feel the unique bond of playing in an orchestra â no matter if they want to become professionals, amateur musicians or just lovers of classical music,â explained Sindre Lyslo, co-founder of RUSO and an accomplished violin teacher and violinist himself. âWe are very excited and honored about this opportunity to play for MANOWARâs following!â
The âGods And Kings World Tour 2016â will celebrate Kings Of Metal MMXIV, which many fans havenât had a chance to experience live yet, as well as the upcoming anniversary of Gods Of War, which was unleashed on the world in 2007. The set list will be packed with fan favorites from both albums, plus many other classics and special surprises.
